Book Review: The 25 Sales Skills They Don’t Teach At Business School

Stephen Schiffman goes into skills and techniques that can be used in the sales world to not only increase sales conversions, but to also make sure that you please the customer and keep a long relationship with them. The book has many useful tips on how to make a sale and keep a loyal customer base. The book has great information that only comes from those with experience in the sales world, however the book definitely seems to go over certain points and gets very repetitive and partially annoying. Don’t take that as me saying it does not have very amazing unique techniques on how to gain a prospect and actually lead them through the sales process, but it definitely does repeat itself a lot.

I would suggest this for the person looking to increase their knowledge of how to get a prospect and keep them, however in my opinion, I do not think it is as good as The 25 Sales Habits Of Highly Successful Salespeople.

Book Review: How Successful People Lead

How Successful People Lead by John C. Maxwell

Hello everyone, I am here with another book review. I know it has been some time since I last posted a book review, but this is a great book that I think everyone should read. Please enjoy the review!!!

How Successful People Lead: John C. Maxwell

Official Book Description

In this perfectly compact read, #1 New York Times bestselling author John C. Maxwell explains how true leadership works. It is not generated by your title. In fact, being named to a position is the lowest of the five levels every effective leader achieves, to be more than a boss people are required to follow, you must master the ability to inspire and invest in people. You need to build a team that produces not only results, but also future leaders. By combining the advice contained in these pages with skill and dedication, you can reach the pinnacle of leadership–Where your influence extends beyond your immediate reach for the benefit of others.

My Review

As the book is described above it is a fast book to read, with information that can be easily understood and implemented into our lives. How Successful People Lead is a perfect book that explains to people that just because you are in a POSITION of leadership, does not mean that you are actually a leader. The lowest level of leadership is position and there are five levels of leadership.

The Average read time of this book is just over three hours, however if you have the hardcover book as I do, it was easily read in about two and a half hours. Filled with insights on how an actual leader goes about leading, it also explains how you cannot be a passive leader, but you are always with your people to the left, right, above you, and the subordinates constantly improving their skills and abilities using the Pareto Principal as a basis for guiding young leaders on the path to becoming a four or five level leader.

Overall this book was amazing, short read time and easy to understand. If you would like to purchase the book you may click the link below, to buy on amazon. Like I had said above I had purchased the hardcover, however they have the Kindle version for under $4 at the time of writing this post.
